After revisiting the repertoire of the main American composers and arrangers of the \u201820s and \u201830s, with the inclusion of the voice of Paolo Venier, the female vocal trio Anakrousis and Tip Tap and Lindy Hop dancers, Trieste Early Jazz Orchestra\u2019s Una Notte al Cotton Club<\/strong> project is now proposing a monographic concert dedicated to George Gershwin<\/strong>.

George Gershwin (New York 1898 – Los Angeles 1937)<\/strong> is unique in the panorama of the composers of his day in that he was able to express himself admirably in both popular and more refined music, drawing upon jazz and blues. He was the composer of the music for numerous Broadway musicals, symphonic pieces and the opera \u201cPorgy and Bess\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first part some of the most beautiful songs of his musicals, interpreted by Paolo Venier<\/strong>, suave-voiced crooner of vast experience, will be presented. The second part is dedicated to the Rhapsody<\/strong>, in its original 1924 arrangement revisited by Tom Hmeljak<\/strong>, composer from Trieste. Giulio Scaramella<\/strong>, a young multi-award winning pianist of classical training from Gorizia – who has a beautiful touch – is the soloist on the piano. Petar Mato\u0161evi\u0107<\/strong>, a young new graduate in conducting from Trieste\u2019s G. Tartini Conservatory of Music, with considerable experience behind him already, will be directing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
